About us

About us

About us

Back in 2021, I closed the doors on my London based start-up and by chance fell into a role with a small but rapidly growing supported living service in Berkshire. Initially a stop-gap, I quickly found working with young care leavers exciting, enjoyable and rewarding.

We saw huge transformation in the young people placed with us. However, upon turning 18, many of those young people would move into their own accommodation unsupported. I continued to receive calls and messages from young people for assistance, evidence of the need for a service to support the transition from semi-independent, to entirely independent living.

Back in 2021, I closed the doors on my London based food-tech startup and by chance fell into a role with a small but rapidly growing semi-independent living service in Berkshire. Initially a stop-gap, I quickly found working with young people in care exciting, enjoyable and rewarding.

As an outcomes-focussed service, we saw huge transformation in the young people in our care. However, upon turning 18, many of those young people would move into their own accommodation, and be left relatively unsupported.

Steady Steps was born to support care experienced young people aged 18-24 with their transition to adulthood through regular, structured and outcomes-focussed keywork sessions. These take place out in the community or at our offices in Berkshire and are tailored to each individual young person’s needs. I continued to receive calls and messages from my young people for assistance with various challenges, evidence of the need for a service to support the transition from semi-independent, to entirely independent living.

Steady Steps seeks to support care experienced young people aged 18+ with their transition to adulthood through regular, structured and outcomes-focussed keywork sessions. These take place in their own home or out in the community and are tailored to each individual young person’s needs.
